About Us

Nestled in the base of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, rests our little town of Susanville, California. In 1983, our store started as a small boutique called Hershberger and Willinghams. Over the years, the store grew, adding more items to their initial 500 square foot store. As the store grew, so did its reputation of unique gifts and excellent customer service.

In 1996, our store was growing by leaps and bounds, adding more square footage and giving the store more of a lodge and home décor look. That was when Hodge Podge Lodge was born. In addition to the new look, we added our famous fudge.

Hodge Podge Lodge has become a shopping destination for many of our visitors, who come back year after year for our unique gifts and, of course, our fudge. Our reputation has grown throughout the Sierra Nevada’s and across the country. We hope your experience with us is an enjoyable one.

We carried a variety of collectables such as Demdaco Willow Tree figurines and Big Sky Carver Bears. Spa products by Sonoma Lavender spa, Thymes Lotion, and European Soap Company. Candles lines of Yankee Candle, Bean Pod Candle, and Woodland Candles. Pet Boutique items from Mud Pie. Stationary from Leanin Tree and Lang. Our famous homemade fudge and other candy products. We are adding more products everyday.

I’d like to give a special thanks to Jack and Pamela Hunt, for giving me a life changing opportunity. My outstanding staff, who encourage me and are my rock. My wonderful customers, thank you for your loyalty and support. My parents, Ralph and Joyce Friend, who give me confidence and loving support. And especially my beloved husband Tom, whose not only my best friend but my biggest fan. I couldn’t have done this without his love and encouragement.
